Ignoring your comments on sinophilia, which belie your jealously of my
knowledge of internal mechanics-
Me? Jealous of YOU??? Hahahahahaha!!!!!
Remember that "all sided support" can also be translated as "centralRemember - "no deficiency, no excess". In fact the
equilibrium".
concept of double heavy (or not) is central to the understanding of
this theory. Cutting the angle and squaring are judo terms, I suspect
I understand them about as much as you understand "all sided support"/
central equilibrium.
WRT Taijiquan, "double heavy" in this case means there is a place
where you will be weak and can be thrown. A flat edge to push on.
Judoka might call it an "opening". If you are not double heavy, then
there is no such opening; this central equilibrium is the position
where you are most likely to be able to react in time to a throw from
your opponent. Call it not leaving an opening. The way taiji does it
has a lot of theory (read: concepts) attached to it, since it is an
internal art.
This is what CXW means when he said "this part is empty" - it has no
^zhong^ qi, because there is double ^heavy^ (sorry for the pun). If
you take "all sided support" and "resist" literally then you don't
understand the implication that the possibility of doing so is all
that is needed to avoid being thrown. If you are familiar with the
proper terminology (remember, he is speaking Chinese) then this is the
proper understanding.
In less than a minute I could demonstrate to you why virtually everything you
utter is a bucket of swill.
Don't you EVER tire of using words that have only meaning to you?
In this thread I have tried to use words which have meanings we all can
understand. There is no need to use esoteric Chinese terms, we are talking simple
principles here.
Look, you stand in front of me with your legs about shoulder width apart, like
you would if you were assuming a swing with a golf club.
I stand in front of you and push you in the chest.....you stagger
backwards...your balance is broken.
Now, assume the same position, I move to your side and push your shoulder....you
stay put...it's MUCH harder to unbalance you from this position.
So, if we are moving around, I will try to have you standing in front of me.
See how simple that was? No "grounding coupled with the ability to shift the
physical alignment of the body so as to transfer energy from any given point to
the ground." where the terms 'energy' and 'grounding' require some convoluted
explanation not found in the physical sciences. What 'energy'? Electrical energy?
Nullified if one wears rubber-soled shoes? How does this 'energy' transfer to the
ground?
For God's sake man, can't you see that you're lost in a mist of pseudoscience and
mumbo-jumbo?
