Being an amature myself I am drawn to these flamboyant titles and need
an objective opinion of professionals such as the members of this
group.

If you're looking to be entertained by obvious nonsense then you might
get a chuckle out of those books. If you're looking for serious
martial arts you're better off avoiding them, and really anything that
says "Ninja" on the cover.

In this day and age is "ninjutsu" a legitimate martial art, or just a
clever marketing ploy to sell books and black pajamas (with feet in
them) to teenagers and immature 35 year olds?

It's mainly a clever marketing ploy. The stereotypical "ninja" that
you see in movies is make-believe. There were obviously assassins and
saboteurs in fuedal Japan, just like in any other culture, but the
specific martial arts, the magic, and all that is make-believe.

The more I read these ninjutsu books the more I feel like I'm walking
around with the word "Sucker" tattooed on my forehead. I haven't
bought the black pajamas with feet in them yet, nor the ski mask and
pointy throwin' stars.

Then you're smarter than a lot of people who read ninjutsu books.

I'm just trying to find someone other than an middle-aged unmarried
Batman flake who takes ninjutsu seriously.

Strangely enough, unlike ninjutsu Batman is actually real.

And lastly, is "Haha Lung" this guys real name or something he named
himself after he had a vision during a cigarette break at his 12 step
program?

The proper thing to do when writing a lot of bull*** books would be
to make up a bull*** name. Just sayin'
