There used to be a group in Ohio that would *really* joust - most

This particular renfair engages troups. Never seems to be the same one
from year to year. Some years the whole act is scripted. Some years,
they actually go out and do "real" jousting (and by that I mean, adapted
modern rules that include actually trying to knock the other guy off the
horse but using "lances" designed to break).

The one thing I've always wished for is that they'd have these things
in the late fall instead of late summer. Most of your typical renfest
clothing is meant to keep you warm - and when it's 90+ degrees outside,
well, let's just say you get a good idea of what that "rotting plague
victim" smell must have been like :b

This particular one starts this coming weekend and goes October. There
have been times it's been unbearably hot and times it's been unmercifully
cold.
