is pretty much by definition (depending on government structures and so
on) lawful.

We tried that once before in our nation. Lincoln killed a whole bunch of
people and said, "no, you're not *allowed* to declare independence."


I suspect
the military funding bills would be too high to keep you from being
annexed, mind you :P
