I'm not sure what I think of the rules yet. Check 'em out.

I don't like them:
- the description of the permissible knives leaves a lot of room to
play with, say, guard shapes and styles, blade form, just how blunt the
edge has to be and so on (not very sharp may not cut skin, but it'll be
a lot worse than a properly rounded edge).
- no head shots or targetting the face; instantly degrades the whole
point of the exercise, for me. They're knives, even granny knows you
could have someone's eye out with one! A lighter/softer blade and it
shouldn't be a problem.
I agree. I don't like not having head as a target. You can hit the
head with Singlestick, why not here?
- That changing lead once a limb's hit thing... it's a playground
rule, let's be honest. :P Perhaps at the end the defeated player has to
count to ten and say a rhyme before he can stand up? ;)
Yeah. In the other Tournaments, a hit to a valiid area is considered
(for tournament purposes) instantly debilitating. A touch is awarded
and the match "resets."
I think they'd be much better served by lighter and/or softer,
standardised knives and less artifice in the rules.
Yeah, that makes sense too me too.
Peace favor your sword (IH),
