I don't like them:
- the description of the permissible knives leaves a lot of room to
play with, say, guard shapes and styles, blade form, just how blunt the
edge has to be and so on (not very sharp may not cut skin, but it'll be
a lot worse than a properly rounded edge).
- no head shots or targetting the face; instantly degrades the whole
point of the exercise, for me. They're knives, even granny knows you
could have someone's eye out with one! A lighter/softer blade and it
shouldn't be a problem.
- That changing lead once a limb's hit thing... it's a playground
rule, let's be honest. :P Perhaps at the end the defeated player has to
count to ten and say a rhyme before he can stand up? ;)
I think they'd be much better served by lighter and/or softer,
standardised knives and less artifice in the rules.
