Re: Weekly OT Logical Fallacy

You didn't raise an issue.

What? Holy ***. You must be insane....

You're the one seeing things that aren't there.

that would explain it....

Yes, it does explain a lot about you.

You posted a link with a definition. Suppose
I posted a link that talked about tomato soup. What issue did I raise?
None.

It was a personal attack, but it was not a logical fallacy since there
was no argument.

Amazing. Fucking amazing. So which is it, are you nuts, or just an
immoral liar?

What argument was David trying to refute by attacking you personally?
Unless you can answer that very simple question, you concede. It's as
simple as that.

Obviously Roman Catholic, so that certainly would explain how you grew
up learning to morally justify lying for your own personal benefit.

Now that is argumentum ad hominem. Know why?

He (along with the rest of us) says you provided no issue in your
initial statement. You claim you did. That is an argument.

You tried to insult his religious beliefs instead of addessing the
argument.

But you knew that, right?

So how's things in South Bend these days?

So you know where he's at... how is that relevant? You trying for
argumentum ad baculum now? :b

You ought to go see your little *** buddy David. He's only a couple
of hours south of you. Maybe you guys could do a road trip and come
out to see me. I'll send you a map. The drive would give you lots of
time to ruminate over your obsessive hatred. When you got here I
would happily put you both out of your misery.

This is great... the self proclaimed enlightened liberal humanist
wants to kill two people over a discussion on usenet.

It's always fun to watch you thrash about, but seeing you driven to the
point where you're pointing out that you know where people live and
saying that you want to kill them... I mean, wow. It's like you're
always trying to reach that extra level of pathetic, and I for one
appreciate that!

Thanks for going the extra mile, Hal.
