Right. Who would not want to raise up and fight against those who
would impose a government by self-rule upon a country. That is way
barbaric.


One word in your sentence crushingly gives the lie to that groundless cover
story: impose!

Yes, a foreign country invading, occupying, killing, maiming, displacing,
devastating, torturing, imprisoning, and oppressing the population of
another sovereign country, as a prelude to "imposing" its vision of
government upon them, is - as perhaps even one as blind as you can now see
- a not very sound method.
