Sure, Tomas... if you knew what you were talking about and I
quietly agreed, you'd think I was a fine fellow. And as I've noted
before, I attribute a lot of this stuff originally to India, but I
don't see you complaining that I'm an India-phile.

Make a silly claim and I'll argue with you.

What's really happening is that you claim to be a teacher. It's a
personal affront to you that you may not be an expert on judo, even
though you claim to. You didn't even know what Okuden were yet you
were saying there was nothing that could possibly be hidden in Judo
because you knew it all.

Empty argument. You are arguing with youself.

Maybe this is really just you fighting the argument because your
ego is wounded and anyone that does that is a bad guy???? It's a
common affliction in the martial arts. It's why I am loathe to be
associated with much of mainstream martial arts and the
role-playing.

First, I'm not a martial artist.
Second, you are not associated with mainstream because you would have
to validate what you are saying. And with making unfounded claims
about
judo you are entering the mainstream and are called on to provide
evidence. Something that is very incommon in the fringe niche that
you
are a self appointed expert in.

Tomas

That last paragraph of yours Tomas, was very well put. Mike can say
anything at all about Judo that he wants to, and he'll simply argue
that whatever source I use to contradict his silly assertion is
"westernized", or whatever his current kick is. The moment he
trashed Donn Draeger is the moment I realized that Mike has no limit
to his thought processes - he simply recognizes *no-one* as more
knowledgeable in any given field. His eight years of Judo is good
enough to call my 35+ years "amateur". Doesn't bother me... but he
*is* insulting my sempai.

Funny thing is, about a third of the books in my Judo library are written in
Japanese, for Japanese. I bought them in Japan. Other books I have, I
bought in translation but they were once again originally written in
Japanese for Japanese.

I suppose one could argue that Japan has become so "Westernized" that even
books by Japanese for Japanese would be "Westernized" (after all, one can
_argue_ anything). However, since one of those books is Mifune's "Canon of
Judo" one has to go far enough back that claims of this hypothetically
"Westernized" Judo not being "real Judo" pretty spurious.
