How does someone like Sigman, who admits to having NEVER STUDIED Shuai
Jiao, contrast it with Judo, of which his knowledge is negligible?
By an extensive knowledge of both chinese and japanese martial art
sufficient to compare and contrast them- particularly in an historical
context and that thread of the internal strength mechanism.
He has an outstanding scholarly access, both by artifact and direct private
instruction from the best in the world.
The application of the mechanism is probably as well suited to
grappling/grasping as it is to striking/warding. Mike has twenty years of
Japanese art to compare to the present twenty-five years of superlative
instruction in the mechanism.
And my own opinion is honed by fifty years of seeing good martial artists,
if not my own practice and application.
