Yeah; geez- talk about 'future shock'.
Just in my lifetime, attitudes about pugging between men have changed
immeasurably- ranging from sports matches to ad hoc fights between guys.
I remember men fighting pretty commonly- scuffles were not unusual. Nobody
thought anything about barfights, or 'stepping outside'- commonly
understood rules governed fights at whatever level of social context.
It's weird- anymore, if you just hit someone, they think they've been
misused. Supposedly, there is never a justification for smacking someone
in the mouth when they misuse it.
People seem to think that the insult *is* the fight.

Didn't I see you in Weehawken when Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr dueled
to the death on July 11, 1804 . Remember they had to cross the Hudson to New
Jersey as dulling was illegal in New York. The pussyfacation of America had
already begun in New York. Today in New Jersey shooting someone is a big
deal.
