I Am a Sport Grappler!

Lately i've grown tired of some of the myths and cliched comments about
sport grapplers and decided to clear somethings up. People think sport
grapplers have no stand up, don't train for strikes and would easily be
beaten by any guy with boxing lessons or a few MMA classes. Well that's
not true. You guys seem to think sport grapplers means wimp. Well a
bunch of guys are, but don't group us all in that category.
I have trained in boxing, wresting and muay thai. I wrestled 4 years in
school and have recently added boxing to my training. I have grown up
in some of the toughest neighborhoods in Northern California and have
been in only a few fights in all my life. In school, in the streets or
where ever. Yes, I enjoy grappling but I go out on weekennds to clubs
and bars knowing full well that I will not be in a fight before the
night is over. It just doesn't happen. I like to compete in gi and no
gi, I have won most of them, but have lost some as well, but that is
part of the game. I get a rush from it and can't explain how much of a
high it is choking some guy out and watching him twitch unconciously on
the ground.

I am not a bully and hate them. I am just a guy who doesn't doesn't
give a *** who respects me. If some drunk *** doesn't give it to
me then I realize he is drunk and will sober up later. To me this is
the most primal and honorable way to settle things. We walk away and
afterwards no one remembers and everything is cool. I have never fought
anyone for stupid reasons.

I know many of you guys who think you are tough and above everyone else
because you are MMA fans or train some Boxing or MMA think I am a wimp
or are getting ready to spout some pussified self righteous bull***.
Whatever. The fact is if you were more like me and willing to settle
things like men then there would be less problems, womanly bitching,
gunplay and other nonsense.

I can't understand why anyone who calls themself a MMA fan would look
down on a sport grapplers since it is the base of fighting. Two men
grappling all out with no strikes, stand ups or politics. No weight
classes, excuses or smack talk. You step on the mat with me then boom
boom boom it's over and done.

No I am not an idiot who will wind up getting beat up by multiple
attackers because I have friends who are bjj experts and wrestlers. I
also don't hang around after a tournament. I've had anywhere from 70-90
matches and have never gotten into the mundials.

I'm just a little tired of hearing guys think some clown with 6 months
of Boxing would destroy any bjj guy on the street.
So next time you start ragging on sport grapplers, just realize that
not all of us are clueless guard pullers who get beat up in a minute.
There are trained grapplers out there who will take you down, pass your
guard and choke you out. I'm not the baddest guy in the world by a
longshot, but I back my talk up and prove it on the mat on a regular
basis. To me that is more of a proving ground than a street fight with
friends and sucker punches to protect you when you decide to *** out
when someone can beat you straight up.
