I'm not disagreeing. What I'm saying is that no one goes around crying
about how kids find stoves fascinating and attractive because most of them
don't. There's really a very small percentage of kids injured by stoves
because they were just so fascinated with them that they played with the
stove when mom was in the other room doing the laundry.
I don't care how much education you do though, you're not going to get
kids to feel the same about stoves and guns as fascinating objects.
It's not about "education" as much as it is about "culture" and
"socialization."
Cars are also just as everyday, but kids are still way more interested
in them than vacuum cleaners.
I've been in homes where every gun was loaded an unlocked from get go,
small children and all. It was also a home where the children were
"indoctrinated" into the "gun culture" early and owned their own firearms
before they were teens. Strangely enough (*cough*), none of them ever
shot themselves or their friends.
