As some know, I've gone for about a week to 10 days with only one or two
hours sleep per day, going to bed at about 4am and up again at 6am,
sometimes no sleep for two or three days.
Did all my regular workouts. Got spread*** logs if anyone wants more
detail. At the same time I was fasting, then on a liquid fast. Some days
worked out in the am and in the pm.
Happens about twice a year. Would be wary of pushing it too much if you're
working a 9-5 job. (I'm retired). Only problem is dry eyes.
I'm in such a 'zone' right now, haven't slept much since Wed (3-5 hrs per
night). Not eating much, hunger is low, but pushing fluids.
Fitness peaking started on 4/18, nearing max on 4/29.
Experiment of one, though. Wouldn't recommend doing this unless you
naturally have similar cycles.
When I was working swing shift in the late 70s pulling 11pm to 7am shift
used to mess me up. Couldn't do more than 3-4 days of it at a time, would
have low blood sugar, dizzy, couldn't workout.
When not in one of these 'hyper' phases I usually get 8 hrs per night or
more. Sometimes have to go back to sleep from 9-10am, the extent of the
'down' part of the cycle. Don't really like sleeping so much, but try to
listen to the body. I think eating clean no sugar, no white carbs has
something to do with it. Didn't figure that out until 2001. ymmv. ;-)
