Look, if you really believe that all other life on earth has a greater
importance than human life, and that we are just getting in it's way
then have yourself fed to the wildlife or ground up for garden mulch.
Until then I think your just a wee bit full of it. Either way I don't
think Mother Earth gives a *** who or what lives here.

God, man, are you really this bad at following an argument? At no point
have I said that other life on earth is more important, nor have I indulged
in anthrpomorphic sentimentality about Mother Earth and her putative
concerns.
No, I have framed my entire argument in terms of human values, addressed by
humans to humans. Judged by our *own values* we are a calamity for this
planet and, arguably, the sooner we are gone the better. But it seems
instead we are far more concerned with preserving our marauding selves
rather than our principles.
Regards,
PS If we visited some beautiful far-off planet with a rich diversity of
life, and then on a subsequent visit found it denuded and overrun with one
pernicious species that suffocated all else as its monoculture supervened,
we would rightly be dismayed and saddened. We would see that dominant
species as a weed, a virus, a plague. Oh yes, our scientists would make no
value judgments; they would merely investigate the etiology of the
situation. But we as human beings would view it as a loss, and might well
wish that pernicious suffocating weed had never been.
Well, there's no need for space travel to encounter that troubled planet.
As Pogo might have said, "We have met the plague and he is us."
PPS Of course, if your entire view of the earth and all it contains is
framed as "How can I consume it to benefit me?" no matter what befalls
other life, then my argument will seem not just weak but incomprehensible.
But that's hardly surprising - that outlook, literally that world view, is
exactly what would expect as the "prime directive" of a parasitic
destructive plague species.
