It's the intellectual dishonesty that bugs me. If it were Clinton that
was wanting access to every last piece of their personal info, the ability
to wiretap ad hoc, and cart blanche "snooping" they'd be screaming bloody
murder and getting all freaked about the government watching ladies
undress and the like. It's because "Clinton couldn't be trusted but Bush
can." Even if we were to stipulate that Bush is as pure as the driven
snow in both motive and deed, what makes them think that *everyone*
working for Bush is equally trustworthy? What makes them think that the
*next* administration will be equally trustworthy? What makes them think
it won't be *Hillary* next elected; who'll abuse this power like a $2
whore?

But if you say anything like this the safe-t-wall slides into place and
they just go on and on about how necessary it is and how Bush won't abuse
it. bla bla bla.

Makes me want to pimp-slap 'em.
