I'm all for kids - if and when you can support them. For an increasing
number of people however, it seems the circumstances are never right.

Work, works, accumulate, work, travel, work, ***, work, work, buy
more ***, oops too late.

It's a catch 22 - the only way to have kids is to do less of that but
if you have kids you almost certainly have to work, work, work more.
So, you end up with two alternatives. Voluntary simplicity (which some
embrace but many abhor) or the cult of the individual as per the above
article.

For me, voluntary simplicity appeals but YMMV.
