Has the rec-knives Yahoo group changed their policy? I recently tried
to log in and was unable to access the messages although when I
clicked on "join this group" I was told I was already a member.

Never bad mouthed anyone. In fact never posted, just read the
messages.

Seems as though the number of members has decreased as there are 23
members at the moment and I thought I remembered 40 or 50 members
previously.

Ah well, perhaps the new motto is "Persona non grata por nada".

I don't have to log in to post to Usenet groups, but now I have to
"validate" each post I do make by reprinting a series of letters or
numbers like some sort of registered user that can't be trusted.
That's not a good sign, because it means they're one step closer to
putting the ultimate squeeze on open discussion. We're just about
there as it is.

These groups are finished anyway, and if they're not being closely
monitored by martial agencies, they're plagued by computers users with
the minds of children. Makes me wonder what the google ghouls do with
the code information, but that too will come out eventually.

However, we can be sure that every validated post is a marked one,
which means you might be more careful about how you use the Internet
today, because it's being set up so that it can be used against you in
the future. That will be even more true for those who depend on it for
more than just casual amusement.

Hello,

Schweik is an obvious troll, so he wont get in, in fact the open door
policy on the Yahoo! group is closed. I allowed the trolls on the list
under moderated status to bolster the group numbers.

Basically Yahoo! works like this :- you search for a group, or have
heard about it through advertising, thanks Larby, Robert et al.

You find the group and see the number of users, if the number is small
you usually don't bother, otherwise you sign up :-)

Now the rec.knives Yahoo! list was set up to act as a members farm, so
that I could direct genuine users to other groups.

As I have referred hundreds of people the open door policy is no longer
necessary, so trolls wont get in at all now, and no amount of
panty-waist complaining about being poorly done by will make it any
different.

Their actions were tolerated while they were useful, but as they are no
longer of any use I throw out their request to join with the rest of the
rubbish.

Regards Charles
rec.knives Yahoo! list.

Given that I am one of your readers who is no longer welcome on your
Yahoo group I assume that for some reason you have decided I am
untrustworthy? A troll? Or?

I would really like to hear your reason why you have excluded me as to
the best of mu knowledge I did nothing to disrupt your group and if
you feel that I am unwelcome I would like very much to know why.

You solicited quite vigorously on this group for members to join your
Yahoo group and so I did. Now, apparently you no longer welcome many
of the individuals who moved, at your pleading, to the Yahoo group and
I for one should be interested in knowing the reason why.

Your comments about a "members farm" seems to me to be a very
misleading statement as I definitely do not remember your making this
statement in your original posts on this group advertizing the Yahoo
group.

To be quite frank Charles, if your attitude is that you can by
slandering some members of this group entice people to join your group
and then "farm" those members for some unexplained other purpose then
in my opinion you are worse then the Trolls that inhabit this group as
at least they are honest and openly state their designs while you
apparently select certain members for some unstated other purpose.

I would certainly be interested in hearing your excuses as at the
moment I believe that you are, in fact, worse then the trolls as you
seem to have some hidden agenda that you are not prepared to reveal to
your readers.

Regards,

William
