Has the rec-knives Yahoo group changed their policy? I recently tried

clicked on "join this group" I was told I was already a member.
Never bad mouthed anyone. In fact never posted, just read the
messages.
Seems as though the number of members has decreased as there are 23
members at the moment and I thought I remembered 40 or 50 members
previously.
Ah well, perhaps the new motto is "Persona non grata por nada".

I don't have to log in to post to Usenet groups, but now I have to
"validate" each post I do make by reprinting a series of letters or
numbers like some sort of registered user that can't be trusted.
That's not a good sign, because it means they're one step closer to
putting the ultimate squeeze on open discussion. We're just about
there as it is.
These groups are finished anyway, and if they're not being closely
monitored by martial agencies, they're plagued by computers users with
the minds of children. Makes me wonder what the google ghouls do with
the code information, but that too will come out eventually.
However, we can be sure that every validated post is a marked one,
which means you might be more careful about how you use the Internet
today, because it's being set up so that it can be used against you in
the future. That will be even more true for those who depend on it for
more than just casual amusement.
Hello,
Schweik is an obvious troll, so he wont get in, in fact the open door
policy on the Yahoo! group is closed. I allowed the trolls on the list
under moderated status to bolster the group numbers.
Basically Yahoo! works like this :- you search for a group, or have
heard about it through advertising, thanks Larby, Robert et al.
You find the group and see the number of users, if the number is small
you usually don't bother, otherwise you sign up :-)
Now the rec.knives Yahoo! list was set up to act as a members farm, so
that I could direct genuine users to other groups.
As I have referred hundreds of people the open door policy is no longer
necessary, so trolls wont get in at all now, and no amount of
panty-waist complaining about being poorly done by will make it any
different.
Their actions were tolerated while they were useful, but as they are no
longer of any use I throw out their request to join with the rest of the
rubbish.
Regards Charles
rec.knives Yahoo! list.
I hate to say it Charles but I didn't register on your list using
Schweik. I used a perfectly innocent name AND I never posted to your
list as, frankly, none of the subject threads seemed worth
participating in.
Never posted, nor did I make a habit of reading your group and rushing
over here to denounce anyone or thing. I did nothing to disturb the
serenity of your group.
So I wonder why you deleted me? Elitism in action? You don't want
people who lurk and read?
But, more to the point, here you are disturbing our serenity. and,
after you made such a lot of noise about your new group and everybody
come on over, yadda, yadda. And now you are back here, in the land of
Trolls, bitching and moaning, just like you were before.
Is this just a plot to entice innocent young knifers over to that den
of iniquity at Yahoo or is it a tact admission that rec-knives Yahoo
is a failed enterprise?
Cheers,
schweik
