C'mon Steve,
You know very well what they did. They demonstrate all the classic
characteristics of children who throw temper tantrums in an effort to
get some attention, any attention.
That is why they get so pissed when we filter them out and give them no
attention whatsoever. It is by far the best way to deal with them (or
actually--to NOT deal with them).
Interestingly, when I'm counselling clients who have attention-seeking
children, their hardest lesson is learning to ignore the tantrums.
Fortunately, we have it easy, a kill-file does 90% of the work.
