anyone here own one, or used one?I have one, but it hasn't seen any use, it is fairly heavy for casual carry
for my taste. but it might be great for a bug out bag or other emergency
use.

What's a bug out bag?
A pre-packed emergency pack (Bergen?) packed for what ever general emergency in your area may be. Universally it will have a good amount of cash money, a first aid kit complete with suture kit, signaling devices (dependent upon location) drinking water, water purification tablets, flashlight and spare batteries, fire starting materials of two or three different types, a good pocket knife and a good fixed blade knife, 50ft or more of paracord, an emergency space blanket, and concentrated food (MRE's ?) for a couple of days. If you're in earthquake country it will have heavy soled shoes or boots, loud whistle, and more water. If you're in forest country, more mosquito repellent, tube tent or tarp, whistle and/or smoke flares, and a hatchet etc.,
A bug-out bag contains what ever 'you' feel you need to be able to grab and leave in a hurry, to avoid what every it it that you need to avoid, but still remain healthy and able to function.
