I applied for a crossbow license and I didn't get the license, I was to
use it for demonstrations, had the gun cabinet lined up etc. etc. etc. and
I did belong to a club at the time. No go :-(
Now that's funny! I can go to the local sport shop and buy a crossbow on
the spot without registration. I can carry it in my car. I'd probably get
rousted if I was carrying it down the street loaded...
Some personal protection devices you will not get as a private citizen.
Pepper spray, dazers and tasers, and the corker anti ballistic body
armour.
Are you really saying you can't buy a bullet proof vest???? That would go
way beyond the normal denial of self protection. I would call that
seriously scary.
The summary offenses act covers a lot of violent crime, but should
probably be a little stiffer, so that we can at least keep the current
prohibited weapons legislation, a relatively short list.
Regards Charles
Punishment for crimes commited is always a better solution than misguided
attempts at prevention. Disarming people doesn't make them safer. Teaching
them respect for consequences does.
