So I bough a HSS power hacksaw blade...

....and I've been grinding on it this evening. Wow is that thing slow to
grind!

Question: since it's high speed steel, which is supposed to be able to
be run hot without losing temper, how hot can I get it while grinding
before I have to start worrying about de-tempering it? Can I run it
until it gets red against the belt or do I need to treat it like any
other steel?
