The idea here is is to have a "tough" knife, even if it is cheap as
dirt? :)
The ones I bought in person never had a hint of anything on the
wood when I got them but turned dark after being treated. They
still don't look the same as on the recent purchase. I think this
is what you got?
Sounds right. Dry as a bone and light weight.
Handle finishing still left something to be desired especially on
the largest blade because some of the corners are square and less
than comfortable. I'm going to have to cut the corners down...
Yeah and crooked as anything too.
Like mine was the product of an "in house race" between a couple
of the handle shapers or maybe... "you can't go home and watch TV
and drink yourself into a stupor until you finish these handles"
