It's been illegal to carry a knife over here in the UK for as long as I can
remember. Given that I'm not the kind of person the cops normally stop and
search, I take my chances and carry my kershaw bump and a set of brass
knuckes (also illegal, even to own). Thankfully I have never had to use
them (other than cutting string and opening letters with my knife). A few
years ago, my cousin and I were attacked by 4 guys carrying claw hammers.
Fortunately I escaped serious injury, but my cousin had his right tibia and
fibula smashed then the claw end of the hammer was used to rip open his leg.
It's not going to get happening again.
On a side note, 2 of the guys who attacked us are now dead, but I guess if
you live by the sword (or hammer in this case)......
