This is correct. A drawcut/pushcut functions far differently from a
simple "chop" as does a slash and even a thrust and that's without getting
into stuff like the Mandriti and Reversi or the snapcut as opposed to a
chop.
I think this is what happens when you get a disconnect between the blade
maker and the blade user.

You ain't just whistling dixie! There's a long standing "Big and Slow VS
Small and Fast" debate. Let's just say that it usually terminates with an
agreement on "Big and Fast."
