And can we clarify what was meant by "wrapped"? Did the o.p. mean
decorative, or cushion? Responses are on both lines of thought and
experience.
Exhaustive list of handle types follows:
- Moulded handles (Delphin/Beard Beach/Some PX3 models)
Smooth all the way down (apart from any moulting seams)
eg: http://www.oddballs.co.uk/images/DelphinOrange.jpg
- Euro style wrapped handles (Most common style of handle wrap)
These are formed by wrapping a triangular piece of plastic around
the handle.
eg: http://www.unicycle.uk.com/Images/Shop/henrypirouette.jpg
- Euro style with taped seams (Possibly todd smith satelites?)
Same as euro style, but with a strip of tape following the spiral
edge of the handle wrap. Can't find an example photo.
- Euro style with mylar decorative layer (I think Beard trans-euros
have these handles, but can't find a clear enough photo to be sure)
Same as euro style, but covered with a layer of mylar decorative film
the intention being to cover the natural "step" in the wrapped handle.
- Renegade unwrapped handles
These are essentially euro style wrapped handles, but in a less
interesting shade of plastic:
eg: http://renegadejuggling.com/Web_store/Html/Images/02clubcolors.jpg
- Renegade wrapped handles
Pretty much a renegade unwrapped handle, made from softer plastic
and covered with a layer of insulation tape.

- Wrapping tennis/handlebar/foam tape around the handle
This is a popular retrofit to onepiece clubs. Opinions are divided
as to wether it's worth it or not. It's certainly not worth doing
it to a composite club.
Given that we're not talking about renegade clubs, I think it's fair
to assume that the OP wanted what I'm calling Euro Style wrapped handles
Paul, et alia, replace knob screws to what effect: length, head,
thread? That matter is continually mentioned, but not so as to select
a better item.
The screws that Babache use for the flips are the cheapest screws I've
ever seen. They'd last longer if they were made of cheese. They're
worse than the screws from the first batch of PX3s which people complained
about so much that Play switched to a better quality screw.
Take them out, take them to a hardware store, buy a woodscrew of the
same length and approximately the same thread pitch. It doesn't really
matter what you buy - anything will be more durable than the screws
that come with the flips.
If you don't, you'll find that over time the knob will "roll round"
to one side of the handle as the screw holding it on bends. If you
ignore this, the screw *will* snap off leaving you with a knobless
club. Removing the screw from the dowel is possible, but tedious.
Much better to do it before you have a problem.
I can't remember off the top of my head if the flips come with a
washer between the screw head and the knob foam - but if they don't
then you might want to buy one of those as well to reduce the chance
of the knob tearing.
If you ever notice that you have a bent knob, unscrew it and replace
the screw *before* it snaps off.
Oh, and it pays to check all clubs regularly regardless of manufacturer
if the knob is loose, tighten it. If the screw is bent, replace it. A
little maintenance every so often will make your clubs last much longer.
