On 14 Jan 2009, Peachi Pan merrily spabbled :-
<snip>
..I get the feeling that a 'new' bristol will emerge from the lovely old
one... possibly on the same site, maybe nearly the same, maybe
completely different.... Jay, can we still book the field, and just all
turn up and camp there together?
Another conversation entirely, not involving John, suggests this may
not be quite as straightforward as we might hope. It'd be so bloody easy to
reproduce it somewhere else, but that field has views like no other and a
microclimate to die for.
I for one am quite happy to have Bristol in the same place without a big
marquee. I think there are a number of options out there and enough
collective will to make something happen... as long as a few (cough!)
minor changes are tolerated ;)
I believe Charlie is already eagerly licking over the bones of the
carcass, mumbling "Bungay! Bungay! Bungay!" all the while.
But anyway, its a shame it will have to transform, but John did a great
job and I guess we may only really appreciate it now its stopped.
Thanks John, you ROCK!!
Seconded.
