[good advice about getting better photos]

Thanks (?) for your advice. I'll sort out the message from the harsh
statement attached to it, and I'll file this one under T for "Tough Love".
I'm understanding and accepting of the constructive criticism concept
(say that ten times fast) but this seemed a step above. I guess it's just
another reminder to get ready for the dog-eat-dog business world we're
getting ourselves into.

To be honest Joe, I agree entirely with Steven. The photos don't show how
exciting you are as performers. You're an incredibly animated guy and
surely that can come across in photos.

More importantly though, the advice didn't seem harsh at all to me, just
direct. A friend of mine once asked a very successful comedy juggler an
his opinion of my friend's show. The reply was essentially "your act was
terrible, you had no reason to be on that stage. Your act was the worst
in the show. You should never put yourself in a position to drop so much,
people will remember that for a long time." That seemed a bit harsh to
me.

Next time you offer advice, can you do it a bit less aggressively? You
don't need to remind us we're starting out and probably don't have many
clients as of yet... we'd be the first to know.

You asked for the advice and he's trying to help you. I've been told lots
of nasty things when asking for advice. If you want to get helpful but
less friendly advice you should go to performers.net, Steven is one of the
nicest people on that forum for sure.

Other advice I'd add about the website is that you should tell potential
clients what they'll get when they hire you. I feel like the info on your
site isn't a basic and descriptive as it needs to be for a lot of people
not familiar with variety entertainment.

Welcome to professional performing.
