Re: Henry's Pirouettes vs. Henrys Classics

Hi Jugglers!

I was wondering about your opinion about Henrys Pirouette's against the
Classics. There are many posts about Henry's clubs, but they are pretty
old.

So, I am working on 5 Clubs, and doing a LOT of 3 and 4 Club stuff, so,
what do you think?

Oh the Henrys Website, for the Classics I am Looking at, Go into "Clubs"
then "Pirouettes", then scroll down and look for "Pirouette Circus uni
metallic", model number J00421. I will be performing a little, so I like
the metallic ones.

The Classics I am looking at are in "Clubs", "Classic-Clubs", then scroll
down and look at "Classic Circus Long uni metallic", model number J00021.

I am in the US, but I used the Henrys website as good examples as exactly
what I am looking at.

Thank you!
Adam

Adam,

As someone that current owns sets of seven of both Classics and
Pirouettes, I'll give you my opinions.

Classics - Purchased these as my first set of "proper" clubs (about four
years ago). I chose these because I'd tried Albatrosses in the past, and
enjoyed them for three club work, but also thought they'd be too big for
the five club stuff that I wanted to start working on. So I thought that
Classics would be a good trade off between Albatrosses that I'd liked for
three, and Pirouettes that everyone talked up for higher numbers. I also
bought the Euro Decorated ones. Bad move - the foil chipped and flaked,
and now looks a whole lot worse than if I'd just bought the trainer style.
That aside, I really liked my Classics, and they were good for three club
stuff and for working on four and five.

Pirouettes - Bought these more recently (late last year). I must admit
that I didn't buy these because I didn't like my Classics, but rather
because I love orange props, and the Henrys Volleyclub range has bright
orange Pirouettes. They juggle very similarly to my Classics, and really
look quite similar, too (apart from the colour and the chipped decos). As
I said, I bought these mainly for the look. I don't like them any less
than my Classics, but I also don't find them a great deal better. They're
still good for both three club work, and higher numbers.

Overall - You're going to like whichever set you buy. And there won't be
a much of a difference between them. I'd urge you to really think about
the decos that you're planning on getting, if you're doing more practicing
than performing, you might find (like I did) that the decos flake off, and
end up looking bed. If you're sure, think about buying some spare deco
kits so that if they do flake, you can patch them up before big shows.

That's my two cents. If you've got any more specific questions about
differences, just shoot, and I'll see if I can answer them.

But whatever you choose, you'll love your new clubs.

Cheers,
Dave
