If I were to create a juggling forum with phpbb (forums), would anyone be

This is not meant to advertise, but I am curios if the community would be
big enough.

To my mind, the only way to find out wether such a forum will be a
success or not will be to try it!

Build it, then see if you can make it work. If it attracts a sufficent
audience, it will start to snowball and you'll have a success on your
hands!

On the other hand, if it doesn't atrtact a sufficient audience, you'll
still have a lot of fun and learn an awful lot from the process. I
really can't see how you could fail to get at least *something* out of
it.

However.

Personally, I won't be joining you - mainly because I'm not a fan of web
based discussion forums. I don't like having to "pull" information, I
prefer it to be "pushed" at me. This is a personal preference, and one
that I'm aware is rarely shared by anyone under 25. [1]

Im not a great juggler but I am interested in trying to unite the
community more. If anyone knows any good hosting sites and where to buy a
domain let me know.

I can thoroughly recomend www.dreamhost.com - They seem to be stable,
cheap, capable of very high speed/bandwidth (which is important if your
site gets popular) Their support team is good, friendly and capable -
they give you bucket loads of features (including a free domain name
registration)

If you do sign up with them, and use the following referer code, you'll
get $30 off your first years worth of hosting. RECJUGGLING01

They even make it dead easy to install (and more importantly) upgrade
phpbb.

If you do use phpbb, *please* make sure you join the appropriate phpbb
mailing list so that you're made aware of new versions. It seems to be
one of those programs that is agressively persued by hackers and new
holes seem to be found in it on a regular basis. Keeping it up to date
is essential.

Im thinking like JugglingForums.com or Juggling-forums.com or
JugglingForum.com or maybe .net or .org. Ill do whatever I can get,
actully ;)

I'd avoid plurals if possible as they're harder to remember. Make sure
that the domain name you chose is descriptive. Hyphenated urls are also
harder to remember/communicate in real life conversation.

Im only 15 years old, but I still know how to run a forum and I am plenty
mature.

Heh! In 15 years time you'll look back at that statement and think
"strewth, how wrong was I!"

Im seriosly considering it, since I can't find a good Juggling Forum on
the internet, with the exception of this one (but I hate the way it works).

The source code for the IJDb interface to rec.juggling (which is just
one of many) is soon to become open source. That means that if you
don't like it, you can contribute to it to make it better! I'd like to
take the opportunity to encourage such behaviour :-)
