Re: Matt Hall-diabolo trick

Hey everyone,

Yeah, THAT trick, eh? You can also see me getting it in the eye on
TYCD 2. I first saw it performed on the open stage in Svendborg, EJC
2003. I don't remember the diaboloist's name, but he pulled it
everytime like it was boring. I think it's actually on the EJC 2003
video made by Alan Plotkin (if you want to see it done correctly and
smoothly).

Basically, there are several ways to get into it. I usually try a
spaghetti knot of some sort and then throw it, or I'll do a left-handed
stopover, and then wrap the right hand stick around the left stick
(pull it up and over the left stick so it hangs down between the axle).

Watch your face as it comes up between your legs. You don't have to
throw it backwards over your shoulder, but it's cooler that way. You
can also just throw it to the left and it will come back to you with a
front wrap on it.

I hope that helps. For the record, I've only pulled it a few times.
Getting hit in the eye pretty much killed my motivation to get that
trick

.
