I haven't watched it yet, though I will when I get home, but I was of the
understanding that a tween involved a certain degree of "independance"
between each shot but with a connection at the beginning and end. I guess
it might match the definition to an extent, I'm not really sure. I've
only ever experienced the use of the term from LP's projects.

According to http://www.fnord.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/m3tatweening.htm "Tweening is when you fill in the gaps between two keyframes in an animation".

Basic tweening is a well known animation process and software packages like ImageReady (the animation companion to Photoshop) offer tweening functions, in which the software interpolates one or more new frames between two previously adjacent frames. As far as I am aware 'tween' is a contraction of 'between' because that's where the new frames go.

Juggletween was inspired by m3tatweening, which was itself an artefact of b3ta.com, the puerile digital arts community. The beauty of metatweening - of which Juggletween is an example - is that responsibility for transitions is given to disparate individuals, rather than a lump of software, resulting in flights of distributed imagination, rather than tedious morphing or fading.

HTH. And I also help I haven't misrepresented LP. <shudder><tremble>
