Vodka and Orange's staff spinning video is one of my favorites, but
there's a lot of "English" in there I can't understand. For all of
us
non-Scottish English speakers, download the video and listen to the
audio
as you read along with my "understanding" of what they're saying. I
think
it's pretty accurate, at least to my ear. The sections with (???)
are
sections I'm really confused in. Help me out if you know the English
words they're attempting to make.

TRANSLATION:

Hi fi my name's vodka and ninja's orange

Aye, and these fuckin' Ozzies? Who the fuck are FlameOz?

GAYLORDS!!!

Orange is more macho than they are.

Aye, they're all grins and crotch thrusts.

What are ya doing, ya fanpot?

Shut it, ballbags

Get back to your smack cuz.(laugh etc.)

The good news - I'm from Glasgow and will be able to understand every
word. The bad news - Couldn't get your link to the clip going. Left
click, remained with "connecting.....". Tried to right click and save,
but it came up "requires one or more codecs". I'll try to left click
again, in the meantime try and think if there's somewhere with a
reliable
download.

I've now got it to work, one of the words which understandably threw
you was "gadgies" . Not gadgets/gandis! This is actually an
Edinburgh/East Coast word meaning "guys". Coupled with the World weegie
federation message at the end - weegie being a disparaging term for
Glaswegians - it would seem that they're having a sly dig at my fellow
citizens! I don't mind, it's all in good spirit (care for a pun? A
vodka?)
I'll work on a full transcription when I get a chance.

the good news: i'm vodka, and therefore understood every word of what i
was saying
the bad news: i fell off my chair laughing at the translation and think
its so good i don't want to ruin it by writing what we actually said...

Bluecat - Is that fell out of your wheel chair or are you walking again now?
Thanks for the re-visiting Michael... still plenty of time to vote for V&O
on
"Best Juggling Video Of The Year" poll.
Excellent translations..... much better left uncorrected as you say
Bluecat...
.....although I think the opening line is better if you know it says 'Minge
is Orange', class linne along with ballbags...
Glad to see Gaylords is universal across languages..
...to this day I still say 'I'm so very witty' when I've told a rubbish joke
or have siad something particularly dense ;)
Love it, we want V&O2 - possibly a pastiche of Olga on the swing for another
WJF promo ;)
