Increase your flexibility. Start by reading Brad Appleton's "Stretching
and Flexibility: Everything you never wanted to know", which is available
at www.cmcrossroads.com/bradapp/docs/rec/stretching/ This reference is
very well known among dancers and it is often cited as a reference in
books about stretching. Next, get a decent book on stretching. There are
several listed in modern ballet FAQ www.gaynorminden.com/tom-parsons/faq_6.html
One that isn't listed that I swear by is "Flexibility for Sport" by Bob Smith
ISBN 1852238046 Finally, start taking ballet and yoga and pilates classes;
be prepared for a long slog, a lot of pain and a ribbing from your mates, but
you will gain in both strength and flexibility.
