I think there is a different curve for 3, 5, 7, 9, ... than for 4, 6, 8,
10, ..., they may or may not increase at the same rate. Also, part of
learning 3 is just learning to juggle in the first place, so the
difficulty factor of 3 for the purpose of these curves needs to be
discounted a little.
I agree that the curves will rise differently according to individual
talent.
For myself, learning 3 was quite quick, but it was 7-10 days before I felt
I was having decent runs. Qualifying 4 only took about a week, but it was
4 or 5 weeks before getting decent runs. Flashing 5 was quick, qualifying
it wasn't and after nearly 2 years of working on 5 I have a PB of just
over 50, regular runs of 30+ and I still don't think I'm getting decent
runs.
Difficulty factors for specific tricks is so dependent on individual
talents and trick components that any formula would look too scary for
most people to use.
Besides, knowing how hard something is supposed to be would put people off
trying in the first place even though they may well be able to achieve it.
So forget how hard it is or might be, give it a go anyway.
Juggle on,
