My point is that some people take 'grave-dancing' more seriously than
others. I wasn't shocked, simply because it has no particular cultural
significance to me. Just like an aboriginal elder "pointing the bone"
at you probably wouldn't mean much to you.

Of course I can google - I'm using Google Groups after all. Again, my
point was only that I wasn't shocked. As for being ignorant - well my
brief research reveals that Brunn was 81 at his death in 2004. I'm
happy to concede my ignorance of juggling history.
So in summary, Chiappini's grave-dancing routine was offensive to many
people - but not to everyone. At worst, he has alienated his target
audience. But very frequently, humour is based on mocking others
anyway. I just see someone who's a little awkward, a little
introverted trying to bust out with some personality - and offending a
few sensitive souls in the process.
