Has anyone had any success with some of the blood tracking lights on the
market. I used the Gerber one last year and had less than satisfactory
results. Primos has a rechargeable available and Sportsman Guide has a 109
LED light available. Anyone had a chance to try these or know of anything
else available?
Thanks in advance. rusty
I haven't had a chance to use mine yet but looked at my bandaged finger out in the field the other night and blood was bright red. I think the problem with led's is that lumens are low. My best blood finder at night was always the old Coleman gasoline lantern with its high light output. I do like the led's however as they will use batteries far beyond what a flashlight will use, i.e. a worn flashlight battery will still work in an led.
Bought my wife a 12 led camp lantern for our frequent power outages but darn thing does not even put out enough light to read by.
I find myself in the field with headlamp with combo bulbs. LED light, regular flashlight and led blood light. Add GPS and cell phone and lots of batteries ;)
