JB, the reason folks used such words include:
1) we're protective of our moderators; we know what they do for us, and,
2) you seemed to jump in from nowhere and suddenly attack them.
Maybe that wasn't your intent, but several folks took it that way. Being
aware of basic netiquette and considering how your words can be misconstrued
when read on a screen (possibly by others across the oceans, too, as this is
a worldwide audience) is always prudent.
This is a great group of hunters, and the 'old boys' are probably the ones
you should listen to most if you really want to learn, even if their
vocabulary isn't as extensive as folks over on the snooty cheese and wine
groups. The man who taught me the most about hunting, other than Dad, was
an ornery old cuss who spoke mostly in single syllables, usually with less
than 3 words per sentence. But he could hunt. And he passed much on to me,
even if in gruff words that ruffled my feathers.
You seem to want nothing but black and white answers. In some cases that
works (as a scientist I like binary answers). But in hunting there really
are a lot of gray areas, and knowledge of how to capitalize on those gray
areas in unique circumstances makes the difference between having mole meat
for dinner (sorry for mixing threads), or going home empty handed after a
long fruitless walk in the woods. With as many people trying to point out
that your questions have been in the big gray area, maybe you should think
about what they're all trying to tell you. Or not. Advice has been freely
offered by many; it's your choice whether to learn from it or not. Plus, to
most of us hunting is an enjoyable way of life, as is chatting about it; it
doesn't need to be confrontational or clinically sterile. Don't know about
you, but I get enough of that at work.
Gary

My apologies Alex for jumping to conclusions regarding the posting
problem. And I will continue to post and enjoy this forum as long as
you teach some of the "old boys" some new words to denigrate new users
other that the trite and hackneyed "troll" or "twit." Soooooo
banal.......lol
