Times sure have changed. Nowadays regardless of the load used, you
have no legal basis for firing a gun at anyone unless you are acting
in self-defense.

It has probably always been that way. Just back then there was a sense of
"he deserved what he got". Who could you complain to the police? They
probably wouldn't be too concerned with the shooter.

I have seen an increase in crime in my personal and professional life and
have been trying to determine the best response. Of course none of these
crimes happened when I was available to do anything about it.
