Re: plain barrel shotgun sights

Mike,

They work great for Turkey. I have used them on my 870 vent rib barrel
with great success. If you can mount a red dot scope they seem to work even
better. Make sure that you buy a good quality sight I have had the cheaper
ones loose the fiber optic piece, they don't work so well without it :)
Good luck hope you get a long beard!

                                           Josh

Are the long sight pipes that are made to clamp on plain barrel
shotguns useful in aiming a turkey gun? It seems that I read somewhere
it forces you to use the same sight picture otherwise the dot will look
like a short line (or just distorted) if your not true behind the bead.
Ofcouse it's not an adjustable rifle sight but it would seem to force
consistency from shot to shot. This Spring is looking like myself and a
single shot will be hunting together so I'd figured I would ask you
guys before spending money on one for it.
