Well, If anyone out there has any data, I would like to know how the
Accubond stands up against the Partition and the Barnes TSX in the .30-06
caliber. I have been using the 165 grain Partitions in my -06 and the 170
grain Paritions in my .307 Winchester and frankly, have had such good
luck with them (last year two deer, at over 150 yards, didn't take a
single step before collapsing)that I have been reticent to try anything
else.
This year I bought a box of custom loaded Barnes TSX from Conley
Precision in Miss. (loading data for the TSX is not available yet and
Conley usually loads to a safe, but high level) to see how they loaded
the round and I am waiting to try it. Velocities are 2900 and 2950 for
the Partition and Barnes TSX, respectively in the .30-06 (just about 2500
fps in the .307 for the 170 grain Partition RN). This gives me a point
blank range of just about 300 yards for the .30-06 (240 yards for the
...307) which is more than enough in Southern Georgia, where our lease is.
Since Nosler claims that the Accubond goes like the Ballistic Tip and
hits like the Partition, I am very interested it it as a substitiute for
the Partition.
