Thunderhead blades can, and should, be sharpened. They are pretty
good out of the box, but can use some fine honing. They definitely
need to be resharpened if you have them out in the rain, or even just
taking them in and out of your quiver.
I use a hard fine stone with a few drops of oil. Disassemble the
broadhead and hone each blade on the stone. It is relatively easy to
find the correct angle based on the existing blade angle. Do a few
strokes on each side, wipe off the oil with a paper towel, and check
the edge (VERY CAREFULLY) on a fingernail or piece of paper.
Use the Thunderhead broadhead tool to reassemble the head. Blades must
be very sharp to kill game quickly, and that can be a real safety
hazard to the shooter and sharpener.
