That only works for those within the UK. However, a fellow on the

which seems to work for us foreigners.

The opening ceremonies were quite spectacular indeed. The entire
Congress has been a superb example of perfect planning and
organisation. I was pleased also to meet several rec.heraldry
contributors at the Congress. The Congress banquet is tonight and the
entire affair concludes on Saturday.

Was Rob Watt in a tabard, Rafal?

No, unfortunately the Canadian heralds do not have tabards (although
Robert Pichette has designed one). However Rob Watt did wear his new
collar of Cs and he also carried his brand new painted wooden baton (a
physical version of the batons that appear behind his shield). I think
he said that this was the first time the baton had been seen in public.
I was very pleased to see the two South African heralds wearing
tabards. Heralds from Russia, Slovakia and Ireland wore tabards as did
Lyon and the private heralds (Garrioch, Slains, Endure and Finlaggan).
The other Scottish heralds and the three English heralds wore court
uniform. Those heralds without tabard or uniform wore white tie.

Oh, dear, this will never do! ;^)

No it won't do. Time to start a collection for Canadian tabards and to
suggest a return to court uniform. The alternative of white tie for the
other heralds worn before 6 pm seemed to be at best a compromise.
