Recoil is very subjective and there are a lot of variation is .357
loads out there. Also, grips make a lot of difference, the factory
stocks are sort of one-size-fits-all, except that they don't. Ruger
factory stocks purely suck in my hands. First thing replaced off the
gun. With a light gun, heavy load and exposed backstrap, it can get
quite painful. The Rugers and the K-frame .357s were all meant to be
carried a lot, shot with .38 Specials for practice,.357s for
qualifications and they served well in that niche. They weren't meant
to take a steady diet of .357s all the time. The Ruger will probably
stand up to it better than the K-frames, though.
