# # Yes, it can be safe it you go slowly and don't ram the decapping pin into
# # the primer,
# # regardless of its position in the case. I have made several priming mistakes
# # and have
# # successfully deprimed all of them using this method.
# # Dispose of the primer in a safe fashion as well. I had been saving all

Not really. I just didn't like the pieces flying around, or the marks it was making
on my deer cleaning concrete slab. I had put a lot of work into it with the winch
and all and didn't want to be hammering on it any longer. Thence into the burn
barrel.

#
# # So now I just toss them into my burn barrel and they all go off as I burn
# # all of
# # my paper trash in a singular attempt to ward off the next, and inevitable,
# # ice age.

Well, I had tried that before hammering them without much success. I kept a jar full of
kerosene, and tried some other stuff too, but after weeks/months of soaking the little
buggers would still go off with a bang. I used the hammer first to test that the
soaking was working and found that it was not.
That is when I began just hammering, which lasted a short while, before the burn
barrel solution came to me.
Inside the barrel, with a nice roaring fire going, they sound just like caps going off.
But you are probably too young to know what those were like.

Regards,

Tom
