# #I reloaded rifle on my own this morning for the first time, (.223) and I
# # ended up seating one bullet a bit too deep. OAL is supposed to be 2.260
# # and I got one that seated at 2.253. Is that enough of a difference to
# # worry about? I ignored one that seated at 2.259 as that should be ok.
# #
# # I'm using 55 grain FMJBT bullets with 25 grains of H335 with a CCI
# # primer.
# #
# # I tried to "pull" it using one of those impact bullet pullers (hammer)
# # but I could not get it to budge.
# #
# # Not sure what went wrong as I was very careful with the seating die and
# # the others were fine. That was the 3rd one I set and the first two were
# # perfect. AFAIK, slight variations in case length should not have
# # affected the final OAL after initial adjustment?
# #
#
# I think you are ok with the length a few thousands of an inch short. Just
# shoot it and don't worry. Depending on the dies, one or two thousands is
# nothing to worry about in most guns. It might be if you had a high dollar
# target gun.

# If you have one of the 'hammer' type pullers, hit it on something solid like
# steel or cement, not wood. Do not be afraid to hit it hard.
Ok. I was just following the printed instructions.
Everything involving reloading is always conservative. <g>
I may eventually get a bolt action .223 of some kind, but that's in the
future.
