Prob
I say you are exaggerating the point. Firstly for someone to inhale
280 grains of lead...equivalent to what...7 .22 bullets??...would take
such a long time it's not worth discussing. Why? Look at all those
people at indoor ranges shooting for hours on end...the air system
can't possibly scrub all the smoke and lead out immediatly so it takes
quite a bit of time to completly refresh the area! I don't know of
anyone personally that has ever died from lead exposure either from
shooting indoors at older or newer ranges...do you??
Lead paint...I think you're mistaken here...as the solvents flash out
I doubt such a heavy metal like lead goes airborne. As the surface
hardens it traps the metallic particles! I paint with aluminum
bronzing powder mixed in clear butyrate dope...much lighter than any
lead product and have never seen any contamination on any surfaces
except the floor from overspray...how do you explain that?
Air cavitating behind the fan in a basement window...I doubt that too
unless he's shooting in a basement that has no air circulation...and
all he has to do is open another basement window. (assuming of course
his basement has windows like mine did)
Lead contamination to the outdoors? Oh come on...it's so minute it's
not worth bothering with. You're starting to sound like the hysterics
the EPA spews out ...do you belive all the US Govt tells you about
second hand smoke too??
On the other hand if the OP wants a true clean shooting enviroment
(except for lots of powder residue) he can always step up to
centerfire and use the new "Green" primers with FMJ bullets that have
their bases enclosed.
