I'm way more central Texas, but have shot all over the state as
opportunity permitted. BVD was my "home" club until the range insurance
got too high to afford. We lost a lot of our Houston and Woodville based
membership to fuel as well!

I still use the BVD range some (It's right across the road from me.) and
I have a one-stage range behind my own house, so I still get some
practice in. Once in a while I get to combine a cowboy shoot with a
prairie dog trip, so the diesel bill doesn't hurt so much. :)

There is a group of former BVD shooters, with a few others mixed in, who
do "Wild West Shootout" re-enactment sorts of things at fairs and
"founders' day" events in the area. Hollywood blanks, lots of flash and
smoke and yelling, "Y'all gonna git yore se'f full o' dubble-aught if'n
ya don't drop them bank bags raht now, ya ornery polecat!"
