I think this is the way to select a weapon. Figure out what you want
to do and then buy something that you can do it with. The other way,
buying something and then trying to figure out how to do what you want
with it is probably going to result in a less then desirable outcome.
I don't necessarily agree with a double action only gun, mostly 'cause
I'm not used to them, but certainly a double - single action would
solve of your problems.
